Aill na Searrach (Ailleens)

Back in October the west coast of Ireland was bombarded by week after week of massive swells.I was hanging out down in Lahinch with some mates, Gav Gallagher of Dreamcatcher Productions, and pro surferJohn McCarthy, Irish Surf Champion. The boys were super fired up about the wave they had surfed that morning for the very first time, Aill Na Searrach or Ailleens. Locals have known about the break for years, but until now no one has had the balls to drop in on this monster

Until now.

This is Aill Na Searrach on a small day. Apparently it can grow twice this big. Looks like Ireland may join Hawaii, California,
South Africa and France as a new big wave destination.

Check out Gav Gallagher’s website for more incredible images that show some even bigger waves here
