Ladakh, India
After three months in Europe, we flew to India for an month long expedition down the Tsarap and Zanskar, culminating with a final flourish on the massive Indus. This year saw particularly high water levels in Ladakh, according to the locals a result of climate change brought about by global warming.
Despite the hype, the Zanskar is a very relaxing, mellow piece of water high in the Himalaya, an ideal introduction to multiday boating.

Pyranha
Burns the boat of choice for multiday expedition action due to the flat hull and ease of access to gear.
Ali Donald on the Tsarap
The highlight of the trip was undoubtedly visiting the Buddist monks in Phuctkal monastery, a self sufficient community several days walk from the nearest roads who live in the same way their ancestors did. A very humbing experience

Stay tuned for the new releases from liveoncemedia.com, due for release in Spring 2007.

I’m a very jealous man. These kinds of trips will have to wait until next year when I switch to becoming a full-time outdoor enthusiast again, I’ve had enough of sitting in a lab. Are you planning on being in Norway again this summer?
